Grants policy

Capital Grants

  • Grants for capital schemes may be considered by the Council on the basis of an annual priorities list for each of the electoral area.
  • Groups must be a Council registered Community Organisation with a bone fide constitution or Articles and Memorandum of Association.
  • Schemes will only be considered based on the social needs of the area and supported with a Community Audit/Business Plan and an independent Feasibility Study proving that the development would be financially viable for the foreseeable future.
  • The Council will only fund new community development projects on the basis of a 33 and one third percent of a total cost up to a maximum Council contribution of £100,000.
  • Any such contribution is subject to the relevant Community Organisation producing:
  • Documentary evidence in advance of any building work that funding is in place to complete the scheme.
  • Relevant Community Associations be made aware that the Council would not be responsible for recurring costs associated with proposed projects.
