Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership Connecting Communities to their Landscape

Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership Connecting Communities to their Landscape

The Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership (MMLP 2013-2016) is based around the themes of natural, built and cultural heritage and a key component of the programme is to engage with local communities. The underlying idea is to be inspired but yet reminded about the landscape and how people have interacted with it. Cultural heritage will be promoted through music, stories, poems, drama and the visual arts. It is hoped by the end of the programme participants will be involved with gathering, creating, sharing, producing and recording music, songs, stories and poems. We welcome all interested parties to please contact Alwynne at the Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership (MMLP) for more information. Russell had been born in Dominic Street in Newry in 1832 and was the first Catholic to be appointed as Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. He also had a high profile political career and was an influential advocate for Irish Home Rule.
