29th September - Fly by Night - Moth and Bat Evening
Evening explorers join the Butterfly Conservation Officer, Catherine Bertrand and team to delve into the nocturnal world of moths and bats. Then come back in the morning to see what has crept in overnight.
Opening a moth trap in the autumn is like opening up a box of fallen leaves. Moths are masters of disguise and our autumn moths come in all sorts of beautiful yellows, browns, oranges and blacks to fit in with the colours of the season. Will you be able to spot the cryptic Pink-barred Sallow, the delicate Feathered Thorn or the strangely shaped Angle Shades?
Suitable for families and anyone with a general interest in wildlife.
